Interesting article on BBC news. Using fake ID is standard practice in the United States for those under the age of twenty one. This is especially common on college campuses. Some states, including West Virginia and New York, are trying new security features on their driver’s licenses to prevent this. As soon as the licenses are changes, the forgers find ways to copy them. The punishment for using fake ID is usually community service, but can stay on your record for three years. Many people think the risk is nothing compared to the reward of being able to buy alcohol, especially since the United States has one of the highest legal drinking ages in the civilized world.
