I just read an article on Mcclatchydc.com that might interest you. This article summarizes the the decision that Congress made concerning Indian tribes and domestic violence. It was determined that Indian tribes will now be able to prosecute non-indian people in tribal courts for any crimes relating to domestic violence. After waiting 16 months and fighting with the Senate to get this approved, a vote of 286-138 made it a win for the Indian tribes.
