Using infrared scanning, the palm scanners by Fujitsu (with Intel pushing to create scanners) are being used in schools to scan children who pay for lunches, and helping hospitals keep track of patients. Discovered by accident when a scientist for Fujitsu passed his palm over a page scanner and got some interesting results, the technology has been refined and developed into the biometric palm scanner being used today. Step aside Mission Impossible; biometrics are here to stay. Do you agree?
