A joint venture between Carnegie Mellon University and the Canadian company Autonomous ID is working on a shoe insole that identifies the wearer in high-security areas. The insole would act as clearance and be able to detect an unauthorized entrant immediately. Although the technology faces moral and privacy issues, it would still show a remarkable advancement in the personal identification process.
