Timescall.com reports that Brian Burcar, a security guard at Longmont United Hospital was fired after an incident involving abuse of a mental patient. He was observed screaming at the patient then holding a pillow over her face after being overheard saying to the patient “scream into this”. He was observed doing this and hospital staff immediately intervened. Although police were called to the scene, Burcar’s supervisor related that he was suspended from the hospital and will no longer be an employee there. Burcar, in a brief interview, claims he was protecting staff and other patients from the woman who was being abusive.
