Check out this article on Kansascity.com. Kansas City is divided by the Missouri River and by more than that. The difference in violent crime and murders north of the river and south of the river is astounding. Consider the difference of murders in 2010, north of the river averages 110 murders, south of the river averages 3. Of course the population is gaining north of the river and with increases in collected taxes maybe Kansas City can find a way to improve the area south of the river which has one of the highest murder rates in the U.S.
