Indiana School Safety Adapts After National Incidents

Just read this on Indianapublicmedia.org. As school systems across the country re-examine their safety policies, it may be worth examining a model created by the Indiana Department of Education. The Indiana DOE formed a school safety specialist academy in 1999. This academy trains specialists all year round and has established a network of trained specialists who share ideas to improve school safety. Every school district must have at least one certified safety specialists according to Indiana law.
