Interesting article posted on Kktv.com. KKTV 11 News reports on the success of surveillance cameras in downtown Colorado Springs. The police started surveilling downtown in December 2012. The officers recently caught a suspect involved in illegal drug possession at a playground in February. Both police and trained volunteers watch the cameras. By looking for suspicious behavior, they can often intervene to either prevent crime or catch drug offenders.
