Quinnipiac University holds identity theft information sessions for students and parents of incoming freshmen. Information security officer Brian Kelly talks about other thefts as well, such as for laptops and cell phones. He tells them to be careful with information and pictures they put online, such as on Facebook or Twitter, because millions could possibly view it. He recommends downloading antivirus and spyware softwares, and upgrades to their PC’s operating systems on a regular basis to avoid hackers and to keep their information safe.
