I applaud and support Chief Kessler’s commitment to his oath and his community. It is true that the entire Bill of Rights and the whole Constitution is important, but unless there are means to enforce the boundaries against encroachment on those rights, the 1st, 4th and 14th amendments are mere words on paper and therein lies the importance of the 2nd amendment.

  2. Peter Moskos says:

What’s so special about the 2nd? One could argue that the whole constitution is pretty important. Does he make the same stand for the 1st Amendment? Or the 4th? Or the 14th?

Constitutionality is defined by the Supreme Court. I would hope he respects the Court’s decisions, even when he disagrees.
