While theft from automobiles is an unfortunately common occurrence on college campuses, a new type of theft has appeared at the Irvine Valley College Campus. Instead of breaking in windows searching for iPods and stereos, thieves are taking catalytic converters and other engine components. These thefts are more difficult to detect initially, and people parking in lots on campus should report suspicious activity under vehicles at any time of day.
